ACTION MESOTHELIOMA DAY 2010

Action Mesothelioma Day took place at Abbots House on 2 July 2010. The event was organised to raise awareness of mesothelioma, a cancer caused by exposure to asbestos, and the day was marked by a dove release, in memory of those affected by mesothelioma. Preceding the dove release were speeches made by Dr Christopher Davies, a consultant respiratory physician and local resident Steve Lee, who has been diagnosed with mesothelioma.

The day was a moving, but ultimately proud one for all involved, as spirits and attendance were high.

ABOUT US

The Berkshire Asbestos Support Group is dedicated to providing support, advice and information to sufferers of asbestos related illnesses and their families.

Join us on the first Tuesday of every month at Reading Town Hall. At these meetings we can provide support, advice and assistance on:

  • what benefits you and your family may be entitled to;
  • help completing the relevant paperwork;
  • information on whether you may be eligible for compensation;
  • links with local solicitors who can assist you with these types of claims;
  • and, most importantly, a friendly person for you to talk to.
