******************************** ACTION MESOTHELIOMA DAY 2010 Action Mesothelioma Day took place at Abbots House on 2 July 2010. The event was organised to raise awareness of mesothelioma, a cancer caused by exposure to asbestos, and the day was marked by a dove release, in memory of those affected by mesothelioma. Preceding the dove release were speeches made by Dr Christopher Davies, a consultant respiratory physician and local resident Steve Lee, who has been diagnosed with mesothelioma. The day was a moving, but ultimately proud one for all involved, as spirits and attendance were high.
