ACTION MESOTHELIOMA DAY 2015
July 6, 2015

Action Mesothelioma Day is a nationwide event where like-minded support groups hold events throughout the country to raise awareness of mesothelioma, the asbestos related cancer.
The Berkshire Asbestos Support Group (BASG) is dedicated to providing support and advice to local sufferers of asbestos disease and their families/carers.
At this year’s BASG Action Mesothelioma Day, on Friday 3rd July, we held afternoon tea on the lawn at Abbots House and had a dove release, to commemorate those that have tragically lost their lives due to mesothelioma.
We were also delighted to be joined by the following speakers:
Nick Adams, consultant respiratory physician at West Sussex Hospital, who spoke about his research into treatment options for mesothelioma.
Gary Johnson and Gaynor Birkbeck, from Age UK, who gave helpful information about the benefits that mesothelioma sufferers (or their families) may be entitled to.
Jenny Fair, an insurance archaeologist, who traces the insurers of dissolved employers. She often plays a crucial role in assisting with claims for compensation and has herself sadly suffered two bereavements due to mesothelioma.
